7 months

Oh, wow! The six month was certainly my favorite so far. You are so cool, little guy! The things you can do just amaze me. I am so proud of how much you are learning and growing. In the last month you learned to crawl on your knees and pull yourself up. I am totally impressed with your scooting/crawling speed these days and how long you can stand up while holding onto things. I can't believe how mobile you are! You are a great eater... well at least of your baby food... you sometimes act like you don't like your bottle. I have been having difficulty clothing you in this cooler weather because you don't have enough waist and butt to keep your pants up, but you need long pants for your long legs! Daddy and I love to see you light up and start "talking" when you see us, it is so cool that you can crawl right over to us if you want us! Although, I will say you are often under my feet and one of these days you are going to get squished! I hope month 7 is as fantastic as 6! Don't grow up too fast little guy!

Still a happy boy!

Yeah, I pulled myself up here!

Eli ended this photo shoot on his terms...
"Mom you can't take my picture if I eat the sign!"

All About Eli - Month 7:
ELi Likes: sitting up, scooting around, crawling around, Chuck the Truck, pulling up, standing at his play table, playing with Daddy, eating - especially his fruit, being upside down, peek-a-boo, moving, finding things under the couch/table/dresser

Eli DOES NOT Like: getting his nose cleaned out, lying down to get his diaper changed, mommy or daddy leaving the room, the end of dinner, being still, getting his nose wiped

GO MIZZOU!

Eli styling his Mizzou T-shirt for last weeks Oklahoma game! Wow, what a game! We are so excited for todays Nebraska game!!

Oh, and I don't think I have mentioned it on here, but this kid pulls himself up. If he isn't crawling and army scooting all over the house then he is standing up somewhere playing. He loves to be standing, even if he is a little shaky on his feet sometimes. Generally, he can stand up for quite a while with no trouble, but every once in a while he forgets to hold on and he lets go with both hands and goes Kerplop.

Pumpkin Patch

Recently, Dan had a day off on a Friday and I had half the day off, so we kept Eli home from school and enjoyed some family time. Eli got to come to Momma's school and meet all of her friends and then we went to the pumpkin patch that afternoon. I was super excited about the awesome picture opportunities to be had at the pumpkin patch, especially since my camera had been broken for a month and I hadn't been able to take many pictures of my little guy! With my camera back in my eager hands and Elijah wearing his super cute Halloween shirt we were off. We had a great time. Eli was generally uninterested in pumpkins, but did put up with Momma's need for pumpkin pictures and gave some cute smiles. His favorite part of our pumpkin patch experience was trying to eat hay from the hay-bales that were everywhere.

Doesn't sit still... even when sitting on a bunch of pumpkins.

6 months

Wow, half a year. I can't hardly believe how big you are and how many tricks you can do. I think is by far the most fun age. Between the scooting, sitting, pulling up and general wiggling you are certainly learning how to get around. I wouldn't say you are efficient at it yet, but you are certainly a busy boy.

All About Eli - Month 6:
ELi Likes: sitting up, scooting around, reaching things, being outside, Sophie Giraffe, eating solid food, blowing raspberries, playing with Chuck the Truck, pulling up, shoe laces,

Eli DOES NOT Like: getting his nose cleaned out, teething, laying down on his back, naps,

Eli's 6 month check up went great. He did well at the doctor's office until the shots. He got pretty mad at the shots and didn't quite recover as quickly as last time. He was pretty mad about the whole thing. As you can tell from his numbers below, he is gaining weight and is getting a bit more square.

Vital Stats - Month 4
Weight: 17 punds 15.5 ounces (59th percentile)
Length: 27 inches (71st percentile)

Jake Walk 2010

Last weekend we participated in the Juvenile Diabetes "Walk for A Cure" to support my cousin Jake. We have been doing the walk for a few years now and it is always a great time with our family. This year I was totally excited because it was Elijah's first walk and I made him his very own team t-shirt. Well, it was chilly and very windy and right during Elijah's nap time... so, he wasn't exactly on his best behavior, but we all survived it.

Apple Picking

Apple picking is one of my absolute favorite fall activities. This year it was especially awesome because we got to take Elijah and we went with Taylor, Sam and Max! It was a beautiful day and lots of fun. We picked tons of apples and the boys tried them while we were out in the orchards... with varied responses. Getting both of the little boys to look at the camera at the same time proved to be an impossible task, but we tried.
