Learning the Eli way!

Dan always asks Eli "What are you learning now, buddy?" when Eli is awake. So, we have been joking recently about "Eli School". Below is a collection of photos of all of the different "classes" that keep Eli busy throughout the day.

Doctor's Visit

Momma, Daddy and Eli all went to Eli's one month check up this morning with Dr. Powers. He got measured and weighed and generally poked and prodded! The doctor said he was growing great and everything looked good. Eli did a pretty good job at the doctor's even though he was pretty sleepy and would've preferred a nap to all the poking and measuring. His next visit is the week before the wedding... that Monday I think. He will be getting 3 shots that day... hopefully he will recover long before the wedding and be his normal delightful self in time for the festivities that weekend!

Vital Stats - 1 Month:

Weight - 8 pounds 8.5 ounces (18th percentile) ( I will admit that his diaper was pretty full when they weighed him so this may be slightly exaggerated :) )

Length - 21 1/2 inches (47%th percentile)

Snoozer! This is what he has been doing ALL day today! You know that doesn't bode well for my night! :)

1 month!

Eli is 1 month old today! It is hard to believe that we have been doing this for a month. The hardest part has definitely been the lack of sleep, but we are surviving and it has been really fun to be Eli's momma this month! I will admit that it is a little less fun at 4 in the morning, but we are surviving.

All about Eli - Month 1:

Eli Likes:

eating, holding up his head, sleeping on momma and daddy, sitting in my bouncy chair, daddy walking him in his carseat, moving - bouncing, walking, swaying, being outside

Eli does NOT like:

waiting for momma to get ready to feed him, sleeping in his crib, sitting still

So, I have only been writing a blog for 2 days now and I have to admit that I made a mistake already! Yesterday, I erroneously said that we were going to the doctor today... I was wrong... the doctor's appointment is on Wednesday. I will update tomorrow with all the exciting doctor info! I leave you with some cute pics of my boys:

Kim & Sam's Bridal Shower!

On Sunday the church held a bridal shower for Kim and Sam. It was a nice time, with yummy pineapple punch and lots of people to hold and cuddle Eli! It may sound horrible, but I kinda like going to places where everyone else holds the baby, it is a nice break for this momma!

The wedding is coming up soon. They are getting an apartment this weekend, so I guess we will be helping them move in! I am getting excited for the wedding, especially if my dress fits! I am working on setting up a girl's night at The Melting Pot for Kim the week of the wedding, I am super excited for chocolate fondue!

The First Post

I am starting this blog as a way to chronicle Eli growing up, share fun stories and adventures and mainly keep friends and family updated about our lives. I don't promise to always be interesting, but I do intend to include lots of pics of the little guy (and maybe video too if I can figure that out!). I am really excited about figuring out all of this "blogging stuff"...backgrounds, banners, layouts, comments... this thing is totally customizable and I am hoping I have time to figure it all out!

Time...now that is an interesting topic... somehow I have all the time in the world and no time at all right now. All Eli and I do is eat and sleep it seems with little in between, but still the days seem to fly by so fast like I have no time for anything else!

Today however is an exciting day, Sam and Max are coming over to play... well Eli and Max won't really play, but Sam and I will certainly have fun! We are planning on walking to the park, but it is really chilly out there so... we might have to figure out a Plan B. Hopefully, I will remember to get out my camera and take some pictures of our adventures with them today so that I can post them here!

In other news, Eli will be 1 month old tomorrow! I really want to come up with a fun way to celebrate or at least mark the occasion...creative juices haven't started flowing on that one yet! Also, he will have his 1 month check up with Dr. Powers tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much he has grown! Everyone says he looks bigger, but it is hard for me to tell because I am with him all the time. I have lots of questions for the doctor tomorrow... like WHY has he decided that he wants to eat every 2 hours all of the sudden and WILL IT EVER STOP?. Seriously, every 2 hours (2.5 when I am lucky)... that is a sure fire way to drive momma crazy!
